Weather Policy
It's raining and lightning, what does Gold Rush do?
Summertime in Colorado is always an interesting game in terms of weather. So, Gold Rush has the following policies for Colorado summer weather conditions:

Light Rain: Practice will go on as scheduled.

Heavy Rain: A decision will be made at the track/during practice.

Lightning close to the practice site: Practice will be cancelled.

If the storm in question occurs before practice, any decision to cancel practice will be made by the coaches and posted to the website and sent out in e-mail form no later than 30 minutes before practice. If the weather is still in question, a decision will be made at the track.

If  lightning or heavy rain happens at the track while practice is going on, athletes will move to the small building on the east side of the track and wait inside until the storm passes or until practice is cancelled and rides home are present. A cell phone will ALWAYS be present at the track for athletes to make phone calls if necessary, and, good weather or bad, there will be a coach present until all athletes have a safe ride home.

In any situation, you can always call Coach Andy directly (719) 337-7717 to see if practice is cancelled.
